Niḍālāt was a series of weekly teach-ins, lectures and workshops investigating the urgent question of Palestine within broader regional and global contexts while focusing on the Arab world and its diasporas. The program offered a space for Palestinians, Arabs and allies from across the globe to come together and develop a critical understanding of current events and a shared vision for liberation.

Magical Futures
in Palestine’s Cinema

The workshop, composed of a series of screenings followed discussions based on readings, explored the magical-realistic potential in a selection of Palestinian movies. It invesftigated magical realism as a literary and cinematic mode that tells the Palestinian story while focusing on the ample spaces for hope, agency, unity, and collective dreams of liberation.

A study group exploring magical realism in Palestinian literature as well as science fiction, surrealism, and the Gothic. The study comprised eight sessions. Each session (lasting three hours) was based on a reading (folktale, short story, or an academic article) or a film.
